Title: decoder suggestion for heay pacific
Post by: chesapeake chaney on October 16, 2008, 11:10:49 AM
I just got a 462 heavy spectrum and want to equip it with dcc and sound.  Is anyone faniliar with the soundtraxx 101 series?  I can't tell if you need a speaker or it is all part of the decoder unit itself.  All responses would be appreciated.  soundrtrax web site makes it sound like everything is in the decoder module and all you do is plug it into the 8 pin socket.  bwchaney

These are nice decoders. If you don't mind spending about $20 more than you can get the Tsunami which is much better. Netheir include speakers.

I use the Tsunami's. I use to use the DSD100LC. Look at the below site. Bruce of Litchfield does answer emails. He has free shipping over $75.00. According to the 4-6-2 diagram, you probably need a 1.1" speaker. He has almost everything you will need.

Bruce is also on the Yahoo SoundTraxx group, a site specifically for SoundTraxx products.
