Title: Gear stripdown
Post by: McCullough on January 19, 2010, 11:27:53 PM
I have a Spectrum Trainmaster diesel that is moving very labourously. I would like to strip it down for a major cleaning. Is there a spec sheet or instruction sheet on the best way to do this?

Look in the diagrams page to the left of this page. I do not know which model diesel is in that set.
There might be a diagram at the below site.

Thanks Lex,the diagram will definitly help. Can you tell me how to get into the truck gearing? Do I pry it open?

Do you have the H16-44? If you do, then go to product reference to the left, and open up diagrams. The H16-44 is listed under the standard line ho scale. It looks like all you have to do is gently pry the truck side frames at the front or back to get it off. the wheels and gears will immediately fall out. ( hopefully not on the floor)
