Title: SOURCE OF BULBS
Post by: huntmen on March 31, 2007, 05:28:10 PM
Where can you buy spare bulbs for Bachmann and Model Power?

I have a model power searchlight car and the bulb is dead- does anyone know what Bachmann bulb would work?

you can get a 12V grain-of-wheat lamp at your local electronics store, such as Radio Shack.

If they are the same ones used in buildings, I've seen them at Hobby Lobby with sticky bottoms. The sticky bottom would let you place them anywhere you want.

Electrical work is not my strong point-

The electrical books on trains I have, don't address the voltage or current of light bulbs

Can someone give me a lesson on bulbs to use on train engines/searchlight cars versus those to use on accessories such as buildings?

As I read the last comment ,a building bulb is the same as a searchlight car bulb???

how about LED. YOU CAN USE 1.5VOLT LED WITH 1K OHM RESISTOR CONNECTED TO ONE LEAD. LESS POWER, VERY LONG LIFE, MORE REALISTIC LOOK. JACK
