Large / Wheel Sizes
July 14, 2010, 04:04:22 PM
I have a flat car with plastic wheels that I would like to convert to metal wheels, but I don't know if I get the large wheels or the small wheels. Does anybody know?

General Discussion / E-Z Command won't work
July 14, 2010, 03:57:46 PM
My friend's E-Z command is shorted out and I wanted to know if it is fixable. He says he put the forked ends of the wires for a switch motor in the hole labeled something like I/O port. Then there was a pop and a smell like bad electrical stuff.
I hope it is possible to fix.

The engine is standard DC, so I will try fiddling with the trailing wheels and see where it gets me. Thanks for the help.

HO / Smoked Daylight
July 09, 2010, 07:06:25 PM
One day I was backing up my old GS-4 (as seen in the 1991 catalog) with my 250 ton crane on the back when the crane derailed and pulled the engine off the layout and onto the cement floor.  :( I quickly picked it up and put it in the track to test it, and it ran. I then put the loose parts back on (front of smoke box and trailing wheels), hooked up the tender, and tried to run it. Nothing happened until after a second it started to smoke. I cut the power and then tried it again. Smoke. I then put it away because I don't know what to do to fix it if it can be fixed. Does anyone know what I should do?

Bachmann should make the Genisis locos (is that even what they're called, because i forget the real class). They would be really nice.

Large / Porter Problem
May 20, 2010, 08:40:25 PM
I have an old 0-4-0 Porter from the Lumberjack set in the 1991 catalog. The gear on the axle that drives the wheels is slipping, and I can't get the grease out from under the gear to CA it. I did this before, but unless all the grease is out from under it, it will not work. It ran about 4 feet before slipping aqain. Can I take off a wheel, or should I send it to Bachmann for fixing?

Large / Great Northern Cars

I got a Great Northern Express on eBay and I was wondering, did Bachmann ever make plain coaches, or other Great Northern rolling stock? Any info accepted.

Large / Roadname vs. Scale

I hear that the Big Hauler line is supposed to be 3ft guage, but there are roadnames like Union Pacific, Santa Fe, Great Northern, and B&O. If Bachmann was making narrow guage equipment, why are there standard guage railroads? Did these railroads all have 3ft guage lines somewhere?
