Title: EZ Command
Post by: budinoh on January 21, 2012, 08:00:52 PM
Can the walk around companions for the EZ Command be unplugged and have the trains run on memory while moving from one panel to another? Also, can the system recognize decoders from other manufacturers? If I have a decoder equiped Atlas, will it run it?

Thanks

Jeff

Other brands of decoders should work just fine. Assuming the decoder is not defective.
All except some first generation ones are all made with the NMRA standards of inter system operation.
Any thing you buy now will be just fine.
As far as the walk around I can not help you as I use a different system.

Yes you can move it around while the trains are running. It's about the same as switching address's.

Have you used it? I own both and it can be unplugged and moved to another jack. Check out Bachmann's Video at 10min.

Jerry,

I do own the EZ command, not the companion. I understood his question to mean that one could operate a locomotive via the campanion while is unplugged, (As is common with some other systems) which is not the case. Guess I should have read the question more carefully...My mistake!
