I have had similar problems with the first run of the Acela and HHP-8 locomotives and was considering turning up the voltage because a Friend of mine had similar problems with an acela equipped with Sound. He turned up the booster and speed problem was solved.   I will remove the capacitors and see what happens

Thanks MLRR
I was looking at the QSI system but the loksound system was simular in price both can be reprogrammed.  The loksound has the constant speed.. that will adjust the locomotive speed up and down hills .. Cruise control and it was motor and sound decoder all in one

Is there a sound decoder I can put in the Acela?

I have installed an tgv thalys loksound decoder in my acela. It has the same engine and break sounds but you have to add horn and bells. ESU loksound also has sounds for the gg-1 and a similar sound package for the aem-7

I have videos of the acela with loksound in action on my website

Thanks
PRR catenary is really not that hard to make after you made about 400 feet of it.  Now that I have catenary up and its operational, now time to put decoders in all the electric Locomotives. I recently bought IHP silverliner IV cars and they need to be motorized.  I have seen those Con-Cor PCC cars and want a PTC one, But I still have to get a Peter Witt and a Bowser PCC car

Thanks for the compliments
Theres on a handful of catenary layouts out there and hardly none with live PRR catenary. So I just like to show that it can be done.  It took time and alot of hard work.

I have about 95% of catenary construction completed on my layout
Here a latest video that shows an Acela with a TGV lenz sound decoder running off of catenary, a gg-1 led freight train and various trolleys running through an HO scale Philadelphia.   All trains and trolleys are DCC controlled and run off of live wire.

hello everybody
I make my streets using fine grit black sandpaper with sidewalks made of 1/16" styrene sheets.  The black sandpaper was available in the Dollar store.  In some local hardware stores, the sandpaper also comes in grey simulating concrete. Pedestrian crossing stripes are printed paper

I also build some of my earlier buildings out of cardboard. The station below is made out of museum board and the apartment buildings are made from storage boxes then painted.   The catenary is Live. The trains are controlled by DCC dynamis and the trolleys by EZ-command
