General Discussion / Availability of spare parts
March 05, 2009, 08:27:34 PM
I have quite a few of the Bachmann HO products. Generally speaking they perform very well. However when you need a spare part, you are out of luck. There are only 19 spare parts shown on the website. For instance I am looking for the instruction sheet for a GS-4, so that I can order parts for repair. Am I missing something or are others having the same difficulty with replacement parts? If I cannot get replacement parts for even current locos, why inverst in a non-maintainable product? AQnyone have any suggestions other than find a basket case and cannibalize it for spare parts? Thanks for any help you can provide.

General Discussion / Re: Loco and Tender wiring.

In response to a question in a prior post, I am not directly related to Vince Lombardi, unless the connection goes back to Italy where  my father's family has resided for hundreds of years. I am however a great fan of football and admire coach Lombardi's many accomplishments.

Thank you so much for all your information and assistance. I am reviewing all the informayion and I believe I have learned quite alot about Bachmann tenders and their various configurations. This has been a wonderful experience and I feel I am now better prepared to tackle my various tender projects.

General Discussion / Loco and Tender wiring.
February 02, 2009, 01:08:44 PM
I have purchased 6 Bachmann tenders with DCC ready in the tender. I plan to use them with super detail locos from several years past. I want to use the existing wiring (with connectors) that come with the tenders. I need to know which pins of the connectors carry which signals/power to properly connect to the locos. A simple wiring diagram or  a verbal description would do. If this effort is successful, I will be converting other locos to use the Bachmann tenders. Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

Thankyou.
