Title: DCC/RCC Capability of 3 Truck Shay?
Post by: santafe1880 on February 04, 2013, 05:19:08 PM
Does the Spectrum 3 truck Shay (the DC version, not DCC Sound) have a DCC/RCC plug in it for something like a Revolution board?

It does not have a plug-n-play socket, but it's easy to install the Revolution with the board that's there. There are screw terminals on the board that you can use. I just finished installing the Revolution in two 3-truck Shays. I put the battery in the large tender over the 3rd truck, and the Revolution board in the bunker over the 2nd truck. I used 6 of the wires that run between loco and third truck; two for battery power forward, two for motor power back, and two for the reverse light.

Later,

K
