Title: New Coupler
Post by: rjcarty on October 27, 2012, 04:21:01 PM
I just got a new Bachmann engine.  It appears to have a different coupler that won't fit with my existing cars.  Am I imagining this?  What do I need to do?

It is significantly smaller, though the shape is roughly the same.

You must be comparing Rapido couplers to a knuckle coupler.

Rapido couplers are for the most part dead and gone.

Many Bachmann loco's come with a Rapido coupler stuffed under the cradel so that you can retro fit them back to Rapidos but everything new you buy from this point on will come with a knuckle coupler on it. Rapido couplers are still used in Europe but in the US, the kuckle coupler has taken over.
