electric motor in large scale 4-6-0 loco AC or DC are there any schematics available

The large scale motors are DC.  You can find exploded drawings in your instructions or on this board but I don't know if there are any actual schematics.  They wouldn't be needed for DC and I suspect the manufacturers would prefer to keep their schematics for DCC boards to themselves.  Sure, a person could reconstruct a DCC decoder's schematic from careful inspection of the board itself, but I'll bet not many folks would go to that much trouble.  Please note that the motors in DCC set-ups are DC, too, even though the DCC board puts out AC.

Well actually, the decoder motor ouput is a bi polar DC.  That looks like a squared off AC waveform on a scope.
