Large / Question for Loco Bill
February 13, 2013, 05:35:19 PM
Hi Loco Bill, I have bought a Bachmann Bumble Bee 4-6-0. On the side of the loco show 177, the tender is lettered Denver & Rio Grande Western. Is it from a set? Big bump on the under side of the loco.
Thanks, alanrr

Large / Trolly cracked drive gear
January 01, 2013, 02:00:41 PM
Hi, I have a Bachmann Trolly (Streetcar) with both drive gears cracked. It is 24 tooth on a 1/4" axle. I found the Northwest Shortline Gear part No. 2223-6, 24 tooth, 15.5 mm OD diameter, bore 1/4". Can someone tell me if the diameter is bottom of the tooth or top of tooth?
Thank, alanrr

Hi, It is 2-6-2, not a Bachmann. I Googled and found:
Heritage Express G Scale Electric Train Set
Features Die-Cast Engine and Wheels
Authentic Locomotive Sounds
Realistic Smoke
Real Working Headlight
The Set Contains:
Locomotive
Tender
Freight Car
Caboose
UL Approved Power Pack
92" x 52" Oval Snap-Fit Track
Instruction Manual
It has a short somewhat, that trips overload.

Large / Bachmann Railtruck fix
November 10, 2012, 01:18:54 PM
Hi, George Schreyer's site on the Bachmann Railtruck said it is susceptible to surging due to the accumulated slop in the driveline. George talked to Barry's Big Trains and Barry says that he has completely reworked the driveline to eliminate the slop and therefore the surging.
Barry, can you tell me the fix?

Large / Bachmann Handcar to battery operation
October 29, 2012, 12:31:24 PM

Hi, I found an article converting a Bachmann Handcar to battery operation, in the October 1999 Garden Railways . I have converted mine and it works great, 2 AA battery last about 2 hours. I copied it to 6 PDF files. Contact me if you want a copy.

Large / North Pole & Southern
October 13, 2012, 01:56:48 PM
I bougth a loco and tender lettered North Pole & Southern. I think it a Bachmann 4-6-0 with metal siderods and metal detail parts. The tender have metal wheels and 2 plugs to the loco. It is missing the headlight, bell and tender hatch. Is it a Bachmann?
Thanks, alanrr

Remember------To start: 1 turn on the engine and 2 turn on the transmiter.
To stop: 1 turn off the transmitter and 2 turn off the engine

Well the easy way is to use separate power suppliers for each section of track with plastic insulting between sections. Get cheap transformers, like Bachmann starter set, for each section. Be careful that you one section set at high speed and second a very slow speed, bad for the motor.
