Title: decoder issues
Post by: gandolf62 on October 27, 2008, 09:40:54 AM
I just purchased a sound equipped shay with Tsunami sound. I have MRC Prodigy Advance. I can not reprogram out of address three and now, after trying various programming methods, all it will do is sit there in address three. I can blow whistle, sound horn but it will not respond to throttle control. Any help please

Are you trying to program your locomotive to a 4 digit address?  If so, does your Prodigy automatically program CV29 as well or do you have to do it manually?  Check your manual to find out.  Or maybe someone who has a Prodigy Advance will let us know.

Have you tried an easier address change, like programming your locomotive to 4?  If so, how did that go?  If not, it would be a good place to start.

Can you read out CV1, CV17, CV18, CV19 and CV29 and let us know what they are?
