I have a few locomotives, mostly CNR and CPR.
I have some cars, mostly Canadian roads.
I have a bit of track to run them on.
Most importantly, I have lots and lots of fun with them.
I model one railroad, my own private representing our ranch, Yampa Valley Railroad.
4 connies, 4 GP40, 4 goats, all Bachmann DCC, all cars represent only UPs fallen flags, and 20 vintage Overton and Overland coaches for excursions.
Like Jim, I have lots of fun. Oh yeah, I am also a UP stockholder.
Yampa Bob
I model 1 Railroad, which had 7 locomotives! On my 4x8 I only need 3... Although I expect to build up the fleet over time.
I have 39 engines,
26 steamers,
4 diesel switchers,
9 road diesels.
I model the UP and GN exclusively. MY R/Road is called the Great Union Pass,(as there is a rather large curved wooden trestle on the backside ;D) I have a few Other roads that have been given to me and I keep them servicable for when the "givers" are over..
And my whole family has a lot of fun helping me run the layout!!

Rich, it's nice to see someone else who likes smaller, older steam as much as I do. I'd have to through my inventory to come up with a total and list.

Now that's simply a fantastic steamer fleet. I'm very jealous!!!!
BaltoOhioRRfan you're in a good spot. I worked at M.B. Klein part time through the mid '90s at the old store and never spent less than my paycheck. That 20% on top of already great prices is tough to resist. Lucky for me I also worked full time as a stationary engineer. My fleet is Ma&Pa, Alphabet Route roads, B&O, GM&O, M&StL, RI and CGW. All transition era.

Me, too. And even though I'm stickin' with DC, I'm really curious about the DCC Mantua "General." That engine is so small, where on earth do you put the receiver?
OK, try to keep up...
1 B-mann 70 ton shay DCC
2 B-mann 44 tonners one DCC, one not there yet
1 B-mann 70 tonner DCC
1 Athearn GP38-2 DCC
1 IHC mike DCC...somewhere
1 B-mann GP40 turned GP40M
1 Athearn S-12 with a burnt out decoder
parts to 3-5 0-4-0 's from mantua and AHM
parts to 4-7 athearn diesils
and NO CONTROLLER to run the DCC engines with...ARGHHHH!!!!!!!
did I go too fast?
I try to have as much fun as I can, without injuring myself -which is getting to be a little too common. All of the locos are painted in my fictitous CPLT paint scheme, with the shay and 44 tonners being real, actual, not-out-of-my-head paint schemes, as far as I can tell.

Come on Gene, you've more than one caboose as your roster. ;)
Out of all the great modelers in the post i dont have that bad of a collection being 16 and all. ;D, im an amtrak modeler.
everything is DCC excepto for a few
1 Fully prototipically accurate Amtrak Acela(thats my baby :P)plus the extra engine set
1 Amtrak HHP-8 #650
1 AEM-7 MARC Engine from Atlas*not dcc
1 NS D8-40CW from Atlas
1 NS GP50 from Bachmann
2 Amtrak p-42's from athern,1 phase V and 1 phase IV
Thats just the engines not much for rolling stock but the passenger cars and a few express boxes
Since you like Acela, and MARC- why no model the model of the Main line up in Maryland. But you'll need some verity of track, that line is very different. Personally, I prefer Amtrak, got two F40PHs, one's a dummy- Phase II. With 1 US mail car- phase 5 <I didn't know the roman numeral>, and a Visa dome lounge car- Phase 5- both cars from Athearn, couplers suck :-\ , oh, well...
I like my cars anyway.
I know you guys are modeling 'current' but when Amtrak started- and for many years on, they had stenciled over or silver & stripe SW-1's, RS-1's, GP-7's, all sorts of 1st generation power for yard and MOW work. I think Amtrak was one of the best paint scemes anyone put on E-units...the coolest thing back then (1971+) was the pooled cars not repainted yet- a GN goat on big sky blue or UP yellow and grey working the northeast corrindor....now that was a bright spot in all the gloom....
I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, etc.

Nice to see that someone likes passenger service, especially from the younger generation. :)
I like passenger service, too. I just like it when the coaches were wooden and the platforms were open. :D
Well I model N scale but I recently made some HO purchases:
PFM/United Union Pacific 2-8-0 unpainted
Tenshodo Big Boy born in 1977 like me. It will need remotoring and regearing but I posted a message here and I got so much help it should be no problem.
I will also be converting it to DCC once and only after I get it to run smooth.
