Years ago Curmudgeon posted photos of a large scale wedge snow plow he had fashioned out of pvc pipe. Does anyone have info on this or any other wedge plow ideas that could be fitted to an Annie or to a gondola or flat car?

Bill and Bob- thanks for you responses. I finally found my copy of the info to which I was referring. It had been posted on the Saskatoon Railroad Modellers web site. I downloaded and printed it in November of 2015. Unfortunately the website was abandoned within the past year. I have taken photos of the four pages and would gladly share them. (The info doesn't appear to be copyrighted, but it is clearly marked with the group's name.) if you would like for me to post the photos here, I need a bit of instructional help. I'm not as computer savvy as I'd like to be!
I'll be using the coupler springs on a train display at our local botanical garden for the holidays. I find it to greatly improve the reliability of the couplers.

Does anyone have the link to the add on spring coupler fix for the large knuckle couplers? I seem to remember that it came from the Saskatoon group?? It has worked very well for me in the past. I just can't remember the specifics. The older I get the more I forget!!!

The one comment I'd add to this is the difference between installing ball bearings on the ends of each axle (in the side frames) and the ball bearing wheel sets which can be purchased. The former uses wheels fixed to the axle, (as in the prototype). The later uses wheels and bearings independently attached to the axle (allowing independent rotation). The first one still has to differentiate on corners... the sharper the corner the more the drag. The second one differentiates regardless of the curve. I assume both would work well; but for extremely tight curves, the higher dollar sets would provide less drag. That said, I am going with the first method. At 20 cents per bearing, that's a lot of reduced friction for relatively effort and $$! Thanks for the nice article. FWIW I'm using flanged bearings that fit into the hole drilled into the side frames.

For what it is worth, I am a long time supporter and purchaser of Bachmann products. For my money they are the best on the market. That is why I own in excess of 90 of them, and I intend to continue to purchase from Bachmann. I mean no disrespect. I am only asking for opinions on an addition that might help the operation of my locos on some of my less than perfect track work.  Thanks for the links.

Thanks, Rich. I guess what I was looking for is some feedback from a user to see if it works as well as claimed. It sure would be nice to not have a sound unit shut down and restart every time it hits a bad spot on the track.

Does anyone have experience with a TCS keep alive device installed in a Bachmann dcc engine? If so, any advice for a newby?

Two questions:
Does anyone have any good solutions for coupler modifications to the Aristo so that I can pull all of my Bachmann cars?... especially the coaches.
Can anyone point me to a source of info on how to set the valves on the live steam Aristo 0-4-0?  I made the dumb mistake of adjusting too far and can't seem to find the original setting I can't seem to find a forum as clear and easy to use as this one.

118 is a couplerbox mounted unit like a no 5. 119 is a wisker sprung coupler that just drops into a coupler box and is self sprung ... Very easy to install.

Kadee 119's will work well and aren't all that expensive. They are self-sprung shelf couplers that are very resistent to vertical uncoupling.

Brad - rule books from individual railroads have good descriptions of signals. For example, CSX has info on speeds for each signal, placement of signal heads versus tracks they govern, etc. Generally speaking, there is a pair of absolute signals at each end of the interlocking, one signal for each direction, governing the movements throught the interlocking. Intermediate signals ( less restricting) can be found between interlockings. (they can be identified by an attached number or letter board).
