E-Z App is fully separate from DCC, but all you need to control the trains is an iOS or Android smart phone or tablet.

As long as you are using a DCC system that supports 28 function keys, you should be able to use them as with a standard decoder, as long as you do not enter Audio Assist Mode. Just select the function key directly as you would normally.

Only the GS4 locomotive in the Daylight Special set has a smoke generator, the DCC American Freedom Train version does not. The Daylight Special set locomotive does not have DCC capability, but if operating on DC, the instructions should otherwise be the same.
