Title: What is the easiest way to secure a locomotive for repair?
Post by: grmajulie on January 11, 2016, 03:01:03 PM
We want to try and repair a Hawthorne (Bachmann) locomotive, but need something to hold the locomotive upside without damaging it. Just wonder if someone has a simple solution. Thanks.

How about a clamp lined with foam?

Replied in your original thread. Drape a folded up towel across a shoe box, or something similar, to make a cradle.
Ribbon Rail makes a cradle that works well, but for a 'one off' repair job it's not worth the expense.

I also posted a reply in your original thread about the bent axle; I suggested a foam cradle as one made by Bowser.  Not expensive at all.   I got mine bc I knew I would be using it more than once.

Good luck :)
