Title: Micro-Trains tender conversion for Spectrum J?
Post by: PowhatanArrow611 on January 29, 2008, 08:19:57 AM
Hi All,

I have a question. Has anyone converted the tender coupler to a Micro-Trains? If so, what coupler did you use and what did you have to do to install the coupler? I have two of the J's. Number 601 and 611 (excursion version). I have put a unimate on the tender of the 601, however, I'm not really satisfied with this as the unimate coupler will not couple to the Bachmann knuckle coupler and I would like to double-head the two J's. Currently I am able to do this, but I have to run 611 in the front retaining it's Bachmann Coupler, which will couple just fine to the front coupler on the 601.

Anyway, any info or assistance would be much appreciated!

BTW, I am VERY pleased with these locomotives. They put the old Bachmann J to shame in every way. Thank You for releasing these, as an N&W fan and a fan of the real 611, these beauties were worth waiting for. Now if some company will do an A....
