General Discussion / Headlight on Spectrum 2-6-0
July 27, 2014, 09:37:22 PM
I recently purchased a Bachmann 2-6-0, Item No. 51813. I use an NCE PowerCab system. There seems to be a problem with the headlights - they keep flickering, and when the engine is at a higher speed it shuts off completely. Yet, when I take it to our club layout which is Digitrax, it functions properly. What am I doing wrong? Is there a CV that needs adjusting?

General Discussion / Forward and reverse
December 28, 2010, 11:25:37 AM
I have a Bachmann Spectrum Pennsylvania K-4 with DCC. For DCC I use NCE. The problem is when I push the forward button it goes in reverse. How do I correct this?

HO / PA's derailing
September 16, 2010, 12:11:46 AM
I am having trouble with my Bachmann PA's derailing, in spite of the fact that I have 32 radius curves. I have a feeling that something is wrong with the truck wheels as I don't have a problem with other six-axle engines, including running E-8's back to back.  I think the PA wheel flanges are wider than the E-8's.  How do I correct this? I don't want to rebuild the entire railroad just because I'm having trouble with two locomotives. Should I file down the crossover frogs somehow?

I also have one of these. Sometimes if after you've followed the instructions in your NCE manual, you shut the system off and restart it, it will run.

HO / Bachmann Spectrum decoder
May 08, 2010, 10:33:30 PM
I recently purchased a Bachmann Spectrum HO Baldwin 4-6-0, Item No. 82302. The dealer said it had a decoder, but nothing on the box indicates so. When I go to program the engine it comes up with "Manufacturer 255" and "Decoder 255."  Is this correct? Normally it comes up with "Manufacturer 011" and "Decoder 035."  I've tried programming it on my NCE Power Cab and doesn't seem to work. What do I do?

Please read the messages. I said I was using the NCE DCC system. Of course it has a factory-installed decoder in it.

I have a Bachmann Spectrum Pennsylvania Railroad K-4 that's completely dead. I have the NCE DCC Power Cab System. Every time I try to set it up all it does is say "Cannot Read CV's."
