HO / Re: Future layout changes and upgrade

Well maybe come off of the main at the far end of the layout with street running until you get out of town and the run between the road and the sea port.  Then under the tracks to the ex park, and have a small coal mine. you would need a short run around track.  You might also have a short siding to unload cars at the sea port.

I think he was the head brakemen.  It would be a much cooler ride than the cab on a hot day in the south.

The triple crossing is still there.  I think it is two NS and one CSX

Those four engineers did not work on the railroad.  three of the four step on the rail to cross over it

General Discussion / Re: HMinky

THANK YOU to all those who have visited here, at Harold Minkwitz's Pacificcoastairlinerr.com – I know my husband Harold loved sharing his ideas on 'the hobby', and it is with great sorrow that I announce his death on March 26, 2020. His creative, often non-traditional ideas (one example: "fake fur grass") will remain on this website for another year. I know he would have wanted that.

During this time, I will also be making an inventory of his many trains, enormous collection of tools, books and magazines to offer for sale. It may be a while before anything is ready for new homes though; there are 30-plus years of "stuff" down in the basement.

If there are any specific items you might be interested in, in the meantime, please let me know and I can provide photos via e-mail.

My contact information is:

HO / Re: Which couplers do you prefer?
May 16, 2020, 11:31:54 PM
Well my guess is I have 25 cars and they all have X couplers and I don't want to change.   Over the years I have changed couplers 4 or 5 times.  It was just part of the game.  THere may some day be a better coupler than KD but I will not change again.

The only locomotive I have with a pancake motor, which I don't run anymore. It would not run, I could just flip the spring that holds the brushes, and it would take off and run.

The only mainline railroad near Westville, Arkansas is the Union Pacific.  Coal trains can and do have just about any railroad units.
