Title: E-Z Track Turnouts
Post by: bfmcconnell on August 17, 2011, 05:21:00 PM
I know the Remote Turnouts Left (44461) & Right (44462) match 18" curves.  However, the #5 Turnouts Left (44561) and right (454562) and #6 turnouts left (44559) and right (44560) are "smoother" transitions.   What does "smoother" mean in terms of radius for #5 & #6 turnouts?

Is there anywhere that shows use of these turnouts and the larger radius track plans i.e., 22", 28", 33.25", & 35.50" radius curves?  I have the E-Z track Planning Guide & Layout Book but it appears to be mostly geared to 18" curves.

No radius is a direct replacement for any of the numbered turnouts. You can use #5 turnouts with around 22" radius and #6 turnouts with 24" radius for best operation.

The 33.25 inch 12 degree curve will bring a #5 turnout back into parallel for creating sidings and switches.  So it would probably give you a nice transition going the other way.
