We might want to know what the locomotive pulling the train is.  Bachmann?  Proto?  Athearn?  etc.
Cleaned your tracks recently?

Can you hear the motor running when you turn up the throttle?  Light working means the loco IS getting POWER.
What loco is it?  gj

The engine for the Wnderland Flyer is a 4-6-0.

If your lights are worling, and you can run another train, than I would say you are right and your track is ok. Not being there is look at it, I would say you should look to see if anything is jammed between the wheeels or drive rods. You may even have cracked a gear or something. Or it could be a broken wire to the motor. You will need to look for these things thing, and hopefully you can get it running.
