Title: Great Scale Model Train Show Timonium MD
Post by: BaltoOhioRRfan on October 02, 2007, 07:43:45 PM
Anyone here going to the show next week? I'm planning on going Sunday as I have to work Saturday. They are trying to talk me into working Sunday but I siad I can be on call. IF you go don't forget to stop by Kleins! Open Saturday and I believe Sunday but i'm not sure yet. We were last show though.

I'll be looking for another Rivarossi 4-6-2 Pacific C&O to turn into a 2-8-2. and of course freight cars of any roads as long as its steam era.

Bach-Man you going to be there this year?

I'm definately going ;D! I'm going to try to pick up an AEM-7 and some Metroliners, maybe a couple E60's as well too, just for good measure ;). And of course, whatever strange, random stuff seems interesting at the time.

Dear "Fan,"

Could you please give dates? I presume weekend of 10/13?  If so, I will try to get there Sunday. Would love to meet our esteemed RR friends, having already met Mr. B. Pittsburgh last Autumn.

Best Wishes,

Jack

Bach-Man you should come down a day early and come into the shop. We're not to far from the fairgrounds anymore. 5 minute drive.

Wasn't a good show, but I went home happy. I got the talk with the one and only Bach-Man again. Haha. Hey did you ever figure out how to pack the steam shovel thing using all the foam inserts? Berkshires and Sharks Look nice, I wish you guys had the local Berkshire, (C&O one).

I picked up:

2 of the 4-4-2's (GHC and Roundhouse),
Dimonos Suger Reefer
Heniz Pickle car
B&O Box Car
C&O Box Car
Parts to repair an engine.
B&O Overton Baggage Car kit, Roundhouse

I saw IMO a lot of over priced stuff, I bought two things i thought were over priced but i wanted em bad enough to spend $25 on em( a peice!) Which were the pickle car and Domonos Suger Reefers. Also lack of vendors that showed up.

I agree, there was a dearth of good stuff this show. Still, that was more than made up for by snagging a rare American GK E60CF (unassembled to boot) for only $25(the original price tag was marked $26.95  :D). I also got a Penn Central Employee timetable for $2. Other than that, it just semed like a bunch of overpriced videos and rolling stock.

Dear Guys,

Could not make it this year. However, the worst day railroading is better than the best day fishing, or something like that, n'est pa?

Best Wishes,

Jack

I agree the show was pretty light this time.  I got there at 9:30, and was out the door before noon--didn't find anything I really wanted/needed.  Granted, there isn't much decent scale O there most of the time anyhow.  I contemplated buying another set of the On30 dump cars, but I don't really have any present need for any more of them.  Still have to determine if I'm going to do any further work on the present layout, since the other half is making serious noises about wanting to move within the next year.
