Title: Lubricating Thomas, Percy, Janes etc
Post by: kreeve on December 21, 2009, 10:11:37 PM
I need advice on cleaning and lubricating, Thomas, James, Percy, Emily etc.  It seems if we do not run them for a few months on the layout (permanent layout) they do no run very good.

Any insights on type of cleaners or lubricants I should use on these?

The track has been cleaned and the larger HO diesels are running fine.

Dear Kreeve,
Use plastic-compatible lubes like our EZ Lube. Light gear oil onte axles and side rods, conductive lube on the treads and contacts, and a quick track cleaning should do the trick.
Happy Holidays!

but watchout how much track cleaner u use on ur track, otherwise u will destroy your trains if u run them when the track is too wet.

Raz, use proper spelling, please. And it is always best to let track cleaner DRY before running trains on the track. Also, and this is really important, make sure to unplug the track before cleaning.
