Please advise Decoder type and number of functions in a HO GP40 #3798, Western Maryland

Bachmann (Lenz) 1 Amp 2 Function Decoder (it is in the board), provided you bought the DCC version.

Look to the left and click on EZ Command. Everything is there for the Bachmann DCC on board locos. Not the sound ones.
