HO / How Do You Power a 15" ( 15r ) Circle?
April 04, 2011, 08:30:23 PM
I have a section on my table for a 15" circle. Unfortunately I don't have room for 9" straights so I'm wondering how to power it. I don't see any 15" curved terminals either. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I have some old track that I would use with my Bachmann DCC controller. Some looks like Atlas, others I don't recognize. Anyway, I don't want to modify my existing cable. Are there other cables you can buy? I've seen the occasional used Bachmann non-EZ track that looks like it would work but that's rare.

Any suggestions?

HO / Bachmann Digital Commander and Kadee
January 08, 2011, 10:51:19 AM
I have two Bachmann trainsets: The Bachmann Digital Commander (http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/products.php?act=viewProd&productId=1532) and the Bachmann Iron King (http://www.amazon.com/Bachmann-Iron-Scale-Electric-Train/dp/B0046MMI3A).

When we connect the diesels as a consist, they disconnect themselves on on the decline of our bridge set. I've read enough on this site to know Kadee couplers will be recommended.

My first question is which couplers do we need for the diesels.

My second question is, will the Kadee couplers that we install on the diesels work with the rest of the cars original couplers or do we need to change the couplers on all of the cars and which ones would we need?

I really like the idea of pulling a lot of cars (12-15) if that makes a difference.

Thanks,

HO / Amtrak E60CP Passenger Car Recommendations
January 04, 2011, 09:38:19 PM
My son really loves the Bachmann E60CP but too many have said that we beed 22" track for the matching amfleet cars and I don't want to take that route.

Sadly all of the passenger cars I've seen appear to be oversized and need 22". So, can anyone recommend some nice passenger cars that match the E60CP?

If not, what are some nice passenger sets that are also DCC?
We already have a GP40 and an FT-A so he is looking for something different.

Thanks.

HO / Amfleet Phase II and 22" Radius Track
January 02, 2011, 01:25:12 AM
I'm considering the Amfleet cars and wondered if they work well on 22" radius track. Does anyone have any experience? They look very long. Do they work OK on 18" r?

Thanks.

Pardon the newbie question but the HO FAQ section doesn't seem to be populated and I didn't see this from a search.

We have just purchased the Bachmann Digital Commander starter set for my 7 year old. It looks like a good start but is very short on rolling stock so we would like to get more. As we shop, can we easily connect other cars from other manufacturers or must we stick with Bachmann.

I've read that Kadee couplers are the way to go but let's just assume we are holding off on that for now unless you folks strongly recommend it.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Any Christmas buying advice would we welcome.

Thanks.
