On30 / Re: Car interior suggestion

Before you spend a lot of time putting an interior in your saw filer's car (which is basically a Plasticville hobo car) you might want to check out Banta Modelworks camp cars.  These cars are much more realistic, are closer to proper size, easy to build, and fit on Bachmann's flat cars.  There is a saw filer's car with extra windows that would show off an interior very well.

Large / Re: large scale 3 truck shay

Are you sure you people mean "diameter" and not "radius?"  I thought the minimum "radius" for the two-truck shay was 4 feet -- that would be an 8 foot diameter.
Just a thought.

I just spoke with Less, and he says he's full.

Hi,
Why not make the oval as big as possible and put the yard inside so the tracks can be straight.  You will have lots of trouble coupling and uncoupling on curves.  Also, you would be able to use 22" radius in the oval.  Bigger is better when it comes to curves.

Good luck,

Typically, the street price is about half Bachmann's list price.  Bachmann does this to protect their dealers and retailers.

On30 / Re: More 2-6-6-2 On30 Pictures
December 23, 2009, 12:11:14 PM

All the pictures I have seen posted by people that have the 2-6-6-2 are of unlettered locos.  Are the lettered and numbered ones available now?

Thanks,
JRT

If you do eat the trains, wait at least an hour before you go to California.

Is the sound set to an "articulated" or "simple" mode?  Is there a CV to adjust from one to the other?
Thanks,

The scoring is on the short piece of track, I believe.  Just bend it back and forth with a pair of pliers and the correct shaped piece breaks off.

Expensive solution? -- put a decoder in the dummy.

Cheap solution? -- run wires from dummy lights to decoder in powered unit.

Digging a ditch would probably work, but why not raise the town to be level with the track -- and avoid a dip in the track?

Any news?  I saw a photo from the Narrow Gauge Conventio in Colorado with at least two of the             2-6-6-2's in the background.  Would be nice to see some photos of this loco next to other On30 equipment.

Thanks,

That picture is the same "engineering sample" picture from this site.

The promo sheet said "fall."  In order for us to get them in "fall," they would almost have to be finished or at least in-the-works at the factory now.  Since we haven't seen pictures other than the engineering sample, my guess is that the 2-6-6-2 isn't in production yet.

Mr. Bach Man:  1.  Is the 2-6-6-2 on schedule?
                        2.  Are actual pictures going to be available soon?
                        3.  Just out of cuiosity, once all the parts are available, how long does it take to build  a
                             locomotive like the 2-6-6-2?

Thanks,
JRT
