I am planning on purchasing a Steam Baldwin 2-8-0 Sante Fe #2511 for my grandson's birthday. Spec's state it will run on DC and DCC. My grandson's layout is DC powered. I am wondering how this unit will run on DC, ie: any problems with speed control, etc.

Has anyone added DCC and Sound to this engine? I know it is small compared to other engines.   Thanks
