Title: Spectrum HO GE Dash 8-40CW
Post by: Gonzo27 on February 16, 2017, 05:52:50 PM
Bought my second train today.

What is the best sound decoder and speaker combination to work with the DCC decoder in the "DCC On Board" Spectrum GE Dash 8-40CW?

This is Bachmann Trains "ASK THE BACH MAN" Forum and Bachmann partners with SoundTraxx.

So for the HO GE Dash 8-40CW consider
SoundTraxx
PN 885014 Tsunami2 TSU-PNP decoder  Click Here  (http://www.soundtraxx.com/dsd/tsunami2/products/tsuPNP.php) for info
PN 810113 35 x 16mm Oval Speaker

Currently the best overall decoder would be an ESU LokSound decoder, which is correct size and with the correct sounds (prime mover GE 7FDL16) for a HO GE Dash 8-40CW locomotive loaded. More info beyond the intended scope of this Forum. Research and contact a LokSound dealer.

The LokSound decoder maybe overkill for you.
