Hi, I am just wondering if you would ever weather some of your Bachmann Thomas items.
I bought second hand Thomas wagons that were weathered.
Thomas salt wagons.
Cattle vans.
Vent vans.
Mail car.
Makes all the difference!
I'm gonna weather and repaint some trucks :)
I tried to weather my cars. But the salt van was the only one that looked like had been weathered. :-\
Call me stupid or inexpirenced but how do you weather them?
some people, like me, use calk or special weathering powders for model trains, and to keep the chalk in place spray a matte finish over it. or the airbrush them with a spray painter. but there are pros and cons
weathering powder
pros: you can redo the wagon if you mess up
cons: after sprayed with the matte finish you can't redo it.
airbrushing
pros: looks nice, and more realistic
cons: if you mess up you'd probably have repaint the truck.
I kind of weathered my engines. I painted them over with a duller coat so they are not as glossy. Just don't paint anything that moves! (eyes, wheels...)
