HO / Re: Heavy 4-8-2 + separate tender = no go??
April 08, 2008, 10:09:32 PM
This is a "slightly off topic" post since I have just ordered the long Vandy tender to use with my Spectrum 4-8-2 LIGHT Mountain.....  does anyone have any idea if I will be facing a simular problem with my "tender swap"?

Dumb me, I assumed that B'mann tenders would be a correct match...

HO / Re: Fitting a small locomotive on a small turntable
December 06, 2007, 04:19:20 AM
Nevin...  The 4-6-0 in this photo is on my kitbashed Atlas turntable (which was not completed when I took this picture) and the Atlas T/T is 65 scale feet in length. As you can see it fits nicely on the Atlas with approx. 4 or 5 ft. to spare.

The second photo shows my completed "bashed" turntable

I hope this information helps you.

HO / Re: EZ Track question for the Bachman
August 23, 2007, 02:47:51 AM
Hunt... Thanks again for all your help. First off let me run through my equipment list: I have a Digitrax Zephyr, four DS-64 stationary decoders, four PS-12 power supply's, plus the EZ track turnouts that I need to power & control.

I will "pour over" the Digitrax DS-64 owners manual until I have it memorized chapter and verse... it's just that for some reason when I read the forums Q and A for Murph's question, I was suddenly was doubting my game plan and just needed clairification.

I am back on track once again, and should be fine thanks to your, and Jim Banner's help.

THANKS AGAIN !!!    Bob

Thanks Hunt for the fast response... but after reading Murph's question to the B'man (a question or two earlier on the forum), I was a little confused.

I thought I had it straight before, that I could use a Digitrax power source, with a Digitrax stationary decoder to control EZ track turnouts and not have to use a "DC" power source... but after Murphs Q&A I wasn't so sure.

If my original thought was correct, I'd appreciate a "green light" from you on that one... as I got slowed up with some hospital time after a couple of small strokes, and I am just now getting back to the track work.

Thanks again...   Bob

HO / EZ Track question for the Bachman
August 21, 2007, 11:30:53 PM
Can Digitrax decoders (DS-64) be used to control EZ Track turnouts ?

#25
WOW !!!  Thanks, Jim... that will save me some $$$, and I think the Zephyr is "more kid friendly" anyway, as we have seven grandkids that love to run trains.

Thanks again for all your help...   Bob/Ten Wheeler

Thanks, Jim...  I have a Zephyr at present, but I have heard that if I want to operate multiple DS-64's I will need a booster, so I may just trade up to a Digitrax Santa Fe... as I already have the DT-400.

Thanks again...  Bob

Has anyone on the forum had any experience with EZ track turnouts and cross-overs controlled by Digitrax DS-64 stationary decoders?

Thanks....  Bob

HO / Re: New 4-4-0 with a problem...
May 05, 2007, 02:44:20 PM
As I mentioned earlier, I have 5 Spectrum's, and until this one I have never had a problem. As with any production item, glitches do happen... but I think Bachmann Spectrum has very good quality control, and an excellent service department. This will not stop me from buying Spectrum
equipment...

Received a reply from Bachmann Service Dept., and they said send it in to them, and they will repair it under the warranty.

Thank you, one and all, for taking time to respond to my thread...   Bob

That is one I can't answer any more, as I no longer have a DC controller... I gave it to my grandson along with a bunch of DC stuff.

All I can tell you, Hunt... is that the hum is loud and steady, no matter what speed... the minute the throttle moves to "stop" the hum is gone.

I have sent a e-mail describing the problem to Bachmann Service, but no replay as of yet. (24 hours ago)

Thanks,  Bob
