yardmaster, if you go to page 5 you will see that rg perkins asked the same question i asked today on dec24/16
you trainmaster replied on jan 20/17 that any new shipments would arrive after the chinese new yrs. ie april 2017.perhaps the original question was mistakenly referred to as a new release of an ho product instead of n  gauge. if you would be so kind as to try to answer the question it would be most appreciated.thanking you in advance ,regards&later KEWATIN

yardmaster  i along with other interested forum members have wondered what happened to the new product announcement back in dec 2016.you replied to the forum member that they would arrive sometime in april 2017. is this now a dead product ,or has their been a production delay? or maybe are you going to re announce it at this yrs NMRA convention in orlando.this is the little stump puller that proved bachmann could make as good or better than its competition.i have several that still run tickity boo  after all these yrs that are dcc. as much as we would like to see new announcements ,i would love to see this and the heavy mountain released with sound , at my age 77 and with 2 implants i am not able to decoder installs  but still have all the enjoyment that model railroading has to offer, i have been in it since 1964.trusting you will have an update .

looks like the leading winner by a large vote is the DREYFUS HUDSON. not really of interest to me as so few roads used them.main user was the N.Y.C which they used to haul their top name trains like the 20th century etc. hudson locomotives were used mostly on level terain and their pulling power diminished greatly on anything with hills.would i like to see a hudson loco ,of course ,but not a dreyfus streamliner.also i can't see KATO making one as they usually stick with western roads.this could also be hype on their part to see what the market place is looking for.also i am sure one wouldn't see this for another 3 yrs.i will take my chances on BACHMANN to re release their heavy mtn again as so many have been asking for it.you can't even find them for sale ,and if one is available they go for a premium price.

Dear sir, been a loyal&strong supporter of BACHMANN PRODUCTS &forum member for yrs. iam asking you are you aware ,that a rival mfg from japan has a new what do you want in a new steam engine poll .it is generating a lot of we wants. interestingly ,myself and others have been asking for a re release of your fantastic mountain loco along with a n scale version of your HO MIKADO, .there is also a lot of appetite for a hudson loco.  i don't hold much hope in there new release as they seem to only do western roads . i can't thank BACHMAN enough for all the steam for eastern roads that they do.maybe we will have a new surprise at this yrs NMRA CONVENTION.anyway any manufacturer should have a look at the other 2 excellent forums RAILWIRE &TRAINBOARD to see the poll results from the model rail community.perhaps you have already done this and if so kudos to BACHMANN.thank you again for all your support to n scale with all your steam locos release past&future. my personal request would be a 4-8-4 GTW NORTHERN ,but don't think i will live long enough to see one at 77,but here's hoping  regards&later KEWATIN

i have to agree with james, regarding the heavy mtn rerun with sound. many of us have been asking for this for yrs.would like to see a mikado announcement come the NMRA convention ,as BACHMANN usually releases in n scale what has been previously done in ho scale. good to see you post here again roger, trust your move east went well&your are on your way to assembling your permanent layout..

HO / Re: Doodlebug body separation
February 21, 2017, 07:30:53 PM
ernie  The body shell slips of with toothpicks or a small  screw driver, at least my 2 did. no need to take the trucks off but if you do remove them and the universal joint pops out  from the motor it can be  trying to get back in,ask me why? you will have to remove the circuit board to make access to it easier to line the pesky little joint up as it has a flat side. i start at the front and lift up and it usually pops right off check marks SPOOKSHOW .COM for more info ,if needed

i have been using a NCE  powercab for 7 yrs now and it doesn;t get much simpler to use than that , you can expand it at your own pace as your layout grows. example add a booster and your power cab becomes a pro cab for more operators,up to 6 also i use a NCE  switchkat to control my kato turnouts.there is also a yahoo group for help with any nce problem you may have to help you resolve same.most of my locos are bachmann steam along with some BL diesels some have sound and one can easily go in and change the cv.s.to change .as mentioned by others your choice will come down to what you are comfortable with. try to go to a hobby shop or a train club or train show as most mfg's have set ups their for demonstrations etc.do your own research and narrow it down to what you think will be needed, remembering that you may want to expand your layout and not have to put more money out when a good basic dcc system will carry you thru.
trust this info  helps in you making a decision.

N / Re: Better Solution for Track Nailing?
February 13, 2017, 07:49:59 PM
Douglas, your reply to mark from spookshow was a bit harsh. this gentleman has done more to promote model railroading as much as anyone i know.if you have a minute i would suggest you go to his website and have a good look. his site is the bible on loco reviews etc.he has also built many layouts with step by step instructions, and when he recommends something it usually has merits.i am not trying to insult you by any means just a little tip that maybe you were quick to comment before thinking about the answer he gave.also i am surprised you have not taken your track gauge out of gauge by using a hammer to install those peskey little nails. myself i use kato track &secure it with little drops of epoxy from my glue gun in the section of track every 2 ft or so and never had a problem if having to remove a section of track.personally i haven't used track nails in many yrs and attach my track directly to the foam bed with no cork roadbed, but that is up to the modellers choosing as what works best for him.trusting the answers you get here will help you to resolve the track laying issues you are having .there are many folks here on this forum and others that are so giving and willing to help others it has been a god send to me and has helped me as an individual to resolve many problems and issues during my many yrs in this hobby..let us know how you make out/ regards&later KEWATIN

N / Re: 2-8-0 Traction Tire Replacement
February 01, 2017, 02:26:41 AM
are you the original owner, and if not you don't know that someone  might have put the screw in with loctite.usually it takes heat to loosen up loctite to remove the screw.i have had the same problem as others and rather than resort to possibly damaging my loco, i resorted to applying BULL FROG SNOT a product available from most train shops or on line dealers. you must also remember if you send in to BACHMANN for repair ,that they would normally replace the loco with another one ,which they have done in the past for me,but in this case the loco has been out of production for some yrs now and they would be unable to supply a new replace one .i have found the best way to apply the snot is to water it down slightly and apply 2 thin coats into the grooves where the tire fits ,letting each coat dry thoroughly.when done correctly ,your locos will have good pulling power. the snot is rather expensive ,but will do many locos.trust this option will help with your problem .and oh yes should you make a mistep and the wheels get out of quartering trying to remove the screws &valve train  will just add to the frustration. i like to use the kiss method . keep it simple silly/

HO / Re: DCC Sound Value Stalling
January 10, 2017, 11:29:51 AM
i had the same problem with my broadway  lmt  import e8. it would stall at a switch point ,sound went dead and headlite went out and then it would reset itself .upon taking the body off the frame and a closer inspection i found one of the pick up wire feeds to the left rear truck was barely soldered&hanging by a thread. stripped back and resoldered and unit is now running fine. i would suggest you should do the same.my system of choice on my layout is NCE dcc. hope you will be able to resolve your problem.
