Title: Acela HO Train

This train set is DCC ready. What is the recommended decoder for this train? :)

any 8-pin decoder will fit. All you need to do is take off the shell, plug it in, and then lay the decoder into the open area where the wires go from the PC board to the head lights.  There is more than enough room there.

For the dummy power car, all you will be controling is the lights, so you can go with a really cheap one(though with an 8-pin plug). Like Cab said, there is plenty of room in the powered loco(and in the dummy, for that matter), so chose the best balance of price and features.

I think you can get a function only decoder for dummies.  You just need to know what to wire it to.  TF4s by digitrax are pretty cheap, i have some for my cab cars.
