Does Bachmann make a longer red power wire or an extension for the short one?
You can easily splice in your own wire if necessary. That is what I would do most likely if necessary.

18 gauge lamp cord wire is very handy for extending power leads. You don't even have to solder, just use some small wire nuts for the splice. Both are available at most hardware and home improvement stores.
