Hello.  I am in the process of creating an auto-reversing track.  Over the last month plus, I have been attempted to setup the LBG 10345 auto reversing unit.  My vendor sent in a replacement unit, but neither would work.  I tested the Bachmann 93938 trolley via directly connecting wiring to the track... and it works just fine. I believe there is an issue with the Bachmann Trolley wiring and the LBG 10345 auto shuttle wiring.  That said, I am now looking at the newly released Bachmann 22 G optical Auto-reversing system.

My question is:  Will this Bachmann 96222 work with LGB 10000 Straight Track?  The only reference I see at Bachmann is "Runs on 45mm Track" .  My gut tells me the track type should not matter, insofar as it is G scale track for the trolley I am running - and the power provided is enough to run the trolley, --- however I've learned never to assume on any cross-mfg.

Thanks in advance!!!

General Discussion / 90080 chassis update
February 22, 2021, 04:19:08 PM
Hello
I have a 90080 King Coal limited edition locomotive / set (4-6-0), created for the Boscov Department Store in Pennsylvania.  Recently, the front truck (4 wheel) mounting and spring came off.  It is cracked in the center and the mounting "tower" is gone.  The wheels, however, are in good shape.  The mounting truck on the parts store is sold out and no longer available.  As would be luck, the revision/update chassis, CR-90080, is also sold out and no longer created.

All of that said, I posed the question to the Bachmann customer service team, The answer was:  "any 900XX chassis can be used with my 90080.  If that is the case, I have to wonder why Bachmann built a different chassis update for different models.

Can anyone confirm that the previous statement is correct.  if so, I may be in luck if the store does not sell out on all 900 standard edition models.  If they are out - can I use any of the Anniversary edition chassis?

Thank you so much for your help as I try to save a limited edition Steam Engine

Best regards

Large / Bachmann 4-6-0 Big hauler - DCC conversion?
November 05, 2019, 08:20:37 AM
I'm new to the DCC process, so thanks for bearing with me.. I have a Bachmann Big hauler 90088 King Coal Stream Passenger Train.   How difficult is it to install DCC in the 90088 big hauler king coal passenger train?  Should be installed in the loco or tender?  Does anyone have a "lessons learned" experience from a past install of the "big hauler" series?

Thank you in advance.

N / DCC for Non DCC Locomotives
November 03, 2019, 08:18:50 AM
Greetings and apologies up front if this message and question is a repeat.  I'm a bit new to the "digital age" of model railroading...
I am searching for a site or information confirming the ability to transition DC locomotive to DCC.  My locomotives are not "rare" or "collector" level.
From a site called TroveStar, I found the detail information on my current Locomotives:

#1  --  Sante fe 353 :  N Scale - Bachmann - 4672 - Locomotive, Diesel, GE U36B - Santa Fe - 353 || The Engine type (?) is U36B
#2 --  Chessie Systems C&O 7071 - Bachmann Diesel Engine F9 (A&B)

I am not sure what other information is required.  As said above, I am considering a move to DCC.  The main determining factor is the amount of detail required to convert (if even possible).

Also, if anyone has recommendations on entry level, "KISS" (keep it simple s...) DCC equipment for a growing enthusiast, let me know.

Thank you in advance
