Dear Matthew,
No, they are not in production at this time. You may, however, still find one at a larger dealer.
Have fun!

Dear Bachmann,

Just out of curiosity, as the locomotive is out of production, why is the C&O long Vanderbilt tender still cataloged?

What is thought of as the C&O USRA heavy Mountain is the version as shopped.  It has flying pumps and a 16,000 gallon Vanderbilt tender as the two most visible recognition features.  It does NOT look like an "as delivered" USRA heavy Mountain.

Gene,

You are correct which would make the version of the 4-8-2 accurate for a C&O J-1. It would depend on the era being modeled as to the acceptability of this.

The "Flying Pumps" face says C&O on the Mountains as well as on the Later F Class Pacific's.

A little superdetailing won't hurt anyone I guess.

Tom,
That would be J-2.  C&O flying pumps also graced the smoke boxes of the K-1,2,&3, H-1/8, and maybe a few of the Gs.

I meant to say the N&W version would represent the J-1, the first ever mountain built. Even the three engines in this class received the flying pumps and a Vanderbilt tender in the rebuilds of the early 1930"s.

So to model a C&O Mountain in the popular post WW2 era, the flying pimps would be required.

Checking C&O Power I see no indication that any of the G Class Consol ever received Vanderbilt Tenders.
