Hornby still has the liscence to HO/OO models. Bachmann can only sell Large Scale Thomas in the UK.

Actually, any shop in the UK can import the models if they wish, only one (trains on time) chooses too. Hornby just have the license to be the UK manfufacturer of the range

Having seen threads for Duck, and the scottish twins, I thought it a good idea to do one for my favourite engine of the series

STEPNEY THE BLUEBELL ENGINE

Why make Stepney?

Stepney was introduced in season 4 and instantly became a favourite character, being given a small number of episodes within the season and then again in season 5, with some minor cameos in later series'.

Stepney is based on an LBSC Terrier loco at the Bluebell Railway in Sussex, England, which this year celebrates its 50th Birthday. Although it wouldn't be released until next year earliest if it went ahead, it would also be a great mark for one of the oldest engines and would be a great hit with thomas fans alike.

Another reason is this:
Yes, Hornby have made Stepney, but he is just a terrier with a face and is the price of one too. Bachmann have a knack for modelling to the TV series and being remarkably accurate too. This with the moving eyes would make the model a hit in my opinion!

I hope you really consider making Stepney, and if you do, please model his season 4 face as apposed to his CGI face.

Thomas & Friends / Re: Ivor the Engine in HO/00 Scale

Ivor the engine was a series in the UK about a small railway in the top left hand corner of wales. Various episodes can be found on youtube.

Personally, I'd love to see an Ivor Modelled. Bring to life one of the old classics.....

And to those who complain about old threads being dug up- why? Would you rather that or the forum cluttering up with new threads on the same thing? Some people may also be new to the forum and have just found the thread to comment on!

I've got a few things I'd LOVE bachmann to make:

1. STEPNEY- original character based on a real engine who just happens to be my favourite. Made by Hornby but rather expensive as all the detail of normal terrier has been added.
2. Duck - You've made engines 1-7 and now 9+10, so 8 would finish the run.
3. Harvey The Crane Engine - An interesting model design that I would love to see actually made. He would also probably be a good seller due to his unique design being able to be modified to make original prototypes
4. The Red Carriages and Edward's Old Coachers (Black and cream) - you have Annie And Clarabell so it would be a quick and cheap repaint and you have the popular carraiges!

There are more but these are my top 3 wants

I would guess the release date would be about the same as all the others- sometime between September and November
