Title: gluing track
Post by: almudallal on July 23, 2014, 08:38:53 PM
Greetings ,

What do you recommend as a glue for gluing Bachmann's nikle track to foam risers.
I would want to avoid glue that would interfer with the DCC turnouts that I have  with the tracks
Thanks

Bachmann E-Z Track to foam risers

Several possibilities one is using low temperature hot glue.

Woodland Scenics Low Temp Foam Glue Sticks ST1446 used in a low temp hot glue gun like Woodland Scenics low temp glue gun ST1445 or the like. The key is low temp type hot glue formulated to work with the material of the risers.

Keep glue away from moving the parts of a turnout.

I agree with Hunt. I used low temp glue gun securing  my EZ track to foam. It worked great.

You can use plastic safe construction adhesive (e.g., Liquid Nails for Projects) or adhesive caulk. You don't need to worry very much about fouling the turnouts if you are using EZTrack because the moving parts are protected by the plastic roadbed. However, you may have problems if you are planning to actually have turnouts on the grade. The best practice is to have turnouts only on level track.

Good luck with your project. Keep us up to date on your progress.
