On30 / new high-side gondola
August 10, 2010, 01:10:59 PM
Hello Mr. B-MANN and All: I see that we have "new" highside gons w/ coal loads. I don't have my rolling stock at hand, at the moment and have tried to look for the older cars, in dealer inventory. Everyone has the new #'s only, so I can't cross check the road numbers. Are these just the old road #'s w/ loads or are they a totally new car? I would hope that a new car with more detail, would also have a different #.  Another manufacture just rehashed the same old cars/ #'s with loads or weathering and called it another part #.Thanks in advance, Jim

Dear Bob and All; I you enter the part # 25241 in the search, on this site, you will see the C&S #21.  And yes, it appears to have the new working coupler/ pilot. I just ordered one from my LHS, today. Jim

Hello El Loco and All: Yes, there is a picture in the products site. Type in #25241 in On30 and click on the small picture of the loco. Looks the same as before with #21 on the cab. WALTHERS also has this picture in the B'Mann listing and instock ........ Y for YES.  A list price of $170.00 indicated no new tricks of DCC or sound. Jim

On30 / New C&S Mogul
December 20, 2009, 08:22:28 PM
Hello BACH MAN and ALL: I see in the WALTHERS B'mann On30 listing, that the #25241 C&S # 21 is in stock. No one else has made mention of it's arrival. Is this an accurate listing? With all of the excitement, over the new 4-6-0 and the 2-6-6-2 being released, the re-issue of this old favorite, just might have slipped in under the radar. I'll be glad to get one, just the same. I don't find it listed here in the loco section, unless you put in the part number, and then it will bring up a picture. Whats the good word Mr. B? Is it here, at this time, for the holidays? Thanks in advance, Jim

General Discussion / Mr. Lee Riley's talk
September 27, 2009, 04:17:36 PM
Dear MR.  BACH-MAN: I have just heard bits and pieces of Mr. Riley talk, from the 2009 NATIONAL NARROW GAUGE CONVENTION. For those of us not in attendance there, could we have an overview of his speech. I thought by now, that someone would have asked what was said, but haven't seen it from anyone else. Sooooo..., I'll take the bait and ask for the silent majority. Thanks, Jim

On30 / Re: Decoder install in Porter

Hello Steve: If you go back to page 37 on On30 and the next to last item (porter and dcc) and go to the fifth author down, you will find a step by step how-to with pictures, on this install. Looking thru the back pages of this forum will be a wealth of info, already covered over time. Goodluck, Jim

On30 / Re: Photo request please for Mr. Bachmann
July 14, 2009, 10:01:20 AM
Hello Mr.B; Am I missing the pictures somewhere or are they not up yet? I had hoped that they would have been posted over the weekend. All the talk elsewhere is the comparison in size, to a know loco or car already out, to get the feel for how big or small the 2-6-6-2 really is. Inquiring mines want to know. Please put something up for all to see. Thanks in advance, Jim

Hello All: This looks really good! I am planning to string two of these bridges together on my layout. I had planned to use some ATLAS bridge parts to get a more finished look to the PLASTICVILLE units. This my be the way I'll go, after seeing these add-ons, though. Thanks for the heads-up, Mr. B. Jim

General Discussion / Re: Dynamis Infrared DCC
June 05, 2009, 12:32:20 PM
Hello All: While on the subject, just how visible does the receiver unit have to be with this setup? Do you have to aim the handheld at the receiver to sent the signal? I didn't want to mount the receiver unit on the layout surface or make it a part of the scenery. With LGBs hand held wireless control, I never had to aim in any direction for control. Now, switching to On30, I would still like to be hand held and wireless, but not with having the receiver showing. Thanks in advance, Jim

Mr. B; Thanks for the info; September seems a long time for just a reletter job! Is there more to the story than paint? We'll ANTICIPATE. Thanks, Jim

Mr. BACH-MAN; When will these engines be available? The C&S #21 specifically. This is just a repaint and not a DCC version, that we've all been asking for, I would guess. I'll still take it! Will the new operating coupler/ pilot be on this model? Thanks in advance, Jim

On30 / New Pilots for 2-6-0
December 11, 2008, 07:18:25 PM
Hello All; I see that there is a snow plow for the new THOMAS set. Why can't we have one for the 2-6-0 ? This could be an add on just like the working coupler units that are now out. What do you think, Mr. BACHMANN? Jim
