Title: New 1:20.3 Cars
Post by: Consolidation on March 30, 2007, 08:56:27 PM
Is there a place where we can see what they look like?

There aren't any pictures of the new 1:20.3 cars in the on-line catalog pages.

The instructions near the top of this page say "News: Click on the "photo gallery" link above to see the Bach Man Gallery". This link seems to work erratically and the available photos are spread around on several pages, but they are there.

There are numerous pix of all of them in several threads on MyLargeScale.com. Easier to see them there.

Happy RRing.

Dear Consolidation,
Stan Ames has a website featuring the cars:

I'll try to take some pictures this week as well.
The cars are a big hit here at the ECLSTS.
Have fun!

Thanks for the link.  These should look great behind my 2-8-0, and give the entire train the more massive look I am seeking.

I am working on a way to adapt Accucraft knuckle couplers to these cars--will post it when I figure it out.  gj

The Accucraft coupler and draft gear can simply be mounted to the same pad to which the Bachmann coupler draft gear is mounted. You have to drill new holes, but that's it. Jack Thompson did this with his box car:

I've got the hopper and flat car, and have been more than pleased with them.

Great models, all very well detailed. If I already didn't have more rolling stock than my railroad can handle, I'd buy a bunch more. I still may yet get a box car. Jacks car really has me jazzed about it.

Later,

K

Mr Bachmann showed me the new box car at the York Show Sat. They have a lot of detail, a must have item.
