N / Making a N track layout longer question
December 27, 2010, 08:39:01 AM
Can you just add straights or does it change angles. The layout I'm using could be bigger, longer, as I have more table. Whats the best way to make it longer without causing track going together problems? Thanks Ron

N / TRACK JOINERS AND TRACK INSULATORS
December 26, 2010, 08:32:31 PM
It seems like when I put the track sections together they are loose in the joiners. Is there something you do to help to tighten this?

Also do you use track insulators like for blocks if you are setting up a DCC layout. I ask as the layout I bought was for a normal DC setup but going to DCC to start. Thanks Ron

December 11, 2010, 06:25:45 PM
I have heard of some N scale trains had smoke generators years ago. Does anyone know if there is such a product now. I even heard of someone that makes smoke generators for the N scale steamers but the smoke stack should be metal. Anyone have any information? Ron

N / WHICH DECODER FOR STEAM SOUND HELP
November 29, 2010, 07:55:01 PM
Many decoders are used for motor and sound. One of the decoders with excellent sound  seems to be the mini tsunami but it does motor and sound at a high price. What choices do we have if an engine has DCC but not sound and we want to add sound? Are there sound decoders with great sound and only do sound or do you have to buy a decoder with motor and sound functions to get good steam sound? Thanks Ron

N / Spectrum Light Mountain with DCC Question
November 23, 2010, 07:21:15 PM
I bought a new Light Mountain today at the hobby store that told me it is DCC equipped. NOT ready but On Board. I know now the factory didn't make Light Mountains with DCC installed. How Can I tell if its equipped? Where would the Decoder be? Can you tell from just looking at it? Thanks for the help! Ron
