Hey everyone!
I just bought my first Williams loco in over ten years! I will post pics of it on my layout. I'd love to see yours as well, maybe videos too! I love Williams locomotives. Share the locos, share the love :)
I was trying to attach some photos of my Williams engines and some passenger cars, and finally figured it out, see my post about two down from here and click on the photolink, goes to photobucket.com
I have some photos of my GP-9's; Pennsylvania and Reading Lines, my F-7 Santa Fe A units, Pennsylvania S-2 steam engine(sold it), Santa Fe El Capiton passenger car, Reading Company King Coal passenger cars, a Reading Lines SD-45.

WOW! Thanks so much! i really like to see other's locos on their layouts! I don't know why there isn't more of them out there. I tracked my loco on the UPS site and it went to Baltimore today on its way to me. I hope it made it out of there ok with the weather and all. Once I get it, I'll post pics of it here on this thread. Thanks so much all of you and please keep them coming!!
Here is my Hudson Scale Santa Fe. A really nice engine.

One more question for you, what image tag do you use? I did the best I could with this site and no instructions on posting photos, or if there is the instructions are very vague!!
The trains in that photo are a Williams GP-9 Reading diesel with a set of King Coal passenger cars and an RMT Reading rail diesel car. Near a Plasticville signal bridge, and in the background are some more Plasticville buildings; school and signal tower.
The track I am using is Gargraves and Lionel 027 with Gargraves switches.

Hunt,
What symbol do you use? The second or third one? Like is it below the underlined U or the slanted I? The one with the IMG doesn't work with my computer or images from photobucket.com. I have tried my best to figure out which one works and that is what I got. I am using google.com for the browser, maybe I need IE-9?
The track in that photo is Lionel 042 curves and Lionel tubular straights, with S gauge Gargraves in the background.

Lee,
Since using the
does not work for you ...
Just type img and /img between left and right square bracket or copy and paste from my example.
If that does not work for you, then you will have to use another browser if updating your Google Chrome does not solve the issue.

Thanks Wyatt
Soon I will have pics and videos of my SD-90. I was supposed to get it yesterday, but the weather held it up in Maryland. Now it looks like Monday it will be here! Not even UPS can tackle mother nature's fury. LOL

Added LED's to some of my Williams trains.
Will do more in the future
Steve
Those LED's look good Steve
Thanks!
I wanted to have brighter lights on the exterior so I ordered an assortment of LED's and resistors from the internet and started soldering!
The markers on F7 were made from model car tail light sprues.
I drilled out the cab shells, filed and sanded the red plastic until they fit and used CA to attach the red lense to the LED.
Now at slow speed the headlights are BRIGHT and the red markers give a nice contrast.
Since I did this to the first F7 I have also done the same to the dummy F7 and my BL-2

I am using google(just google) not google chrome so I may have to update to google chrome or try internet explorer's new version.

Hello everyone I am new to the board and have two Williams by Bachmann a FA-1AA and BL-2 both in Rock Island Line The detailing on these engines is very nice. I have added led lighting, wired them in series for better slow speed operation and added MRC sound decoders to them you can see them under my name Nick Shultz on you tube
Hey guys here is a link to my video of my new SD-90!!

I wll have pics up as soon as I can figure out how to get them on the Bachman forum.
Here is a pic of my new SD-90!
Lets try this again!
Follow the links to my FB page to see the new loco. I could not post them here :(

I hate to say this but none of your photos came through. I too had trouble with this site or my web browser. Try again and see if it will take by using the second or third symbol.

Hey phillireading,
I saw that so I posted links to my Facebook page. try those. I hate how the Bachman site is so limited on the size of attachments!
Silver69,
How do you go about adding LED's to your trains? Thanks!!

Jose,
It was really easy.
I first remove the cab from the chassis.
Once removed I opened up the holes, I used a pin vise drill to make the first small hole the followed up with an electric drill to make the hole the same size at the raised light bump on the F7 cab.
Next I found clear red plastic and sanded it to the size of the hole, a taillight sprue from a model car kit worked fine. Once done it was 1/4 inch long and flat on both ends.
Next I assembled the LED's and resistors into a shape that fits into the nose of the cab, once soldered together the stayed in place by friction.
I then used CA glue (super glue) to attach the LED's to the red plastic lenses.
Next I soldered on wires to the LED assembly and connected them to the hot and ground on the train chassis and carefully replaced the cab on the chassis.
While I had the cab off I also wired the motors in series, slow speeds are now much smoother.
This was my first attempt and I think the results are great.
Good luck if you decide to give it a try
Steve

Hey stationmaster,
I tried your links with no success! Even clicking on the links you posted don't help!
On Facebook it says currently unavailable, 2-22-14 11:55 am EST or New York City time.
I must agree that it is difficult to post photos on here!!!

ACE Electronics has the replacement LED bulbs with all the conversions built into the bulb. I just received the replacements in the mail and plan to replace the bulbs hopefully this weekend.
Follow my thread "Dem Bulbs""

Does that NS F-3 have wig-wag lighting on the bottom??
Great posts. there are a lot of talented folks out there!!!
Fred,
What is wig wag lighting? Is it similar to the flashing ditch lights sequence for grade crossings?
Lee F.
Fred,
Thanks for the tip, I'll check out your bulb thread
Steve
Fred
The NS F 3's do not come with any lights at the bottom front just the main head light. I replaced the headlight with a LED setup from Evans design and then drilled out the places at the bottom and put plastic lens in then mount two LEDs in them but it is not wig wag just on all the time. Evans dose sell a wig wag I think.
Lee F.
Yes wig wag is the same as flashing ditch lights.
Thanks Wyatt!
I was a truck and bus driver for a bit and some really older buses had a wig-wag device that dropped a small stop sign that would swing in front of you at the windshield when the air pressure got too low. Before moving the bus you had to reset the wig-wag device.
Plus at least one or two other things have been called a wig-wag in commercial or industrial usage. I just wanted to clarify what was being said.
Lee F.
OK let me try this again... There is a link to the Bachman FaceBook page, whee I posted a pic of my new SD-90
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bachmann-Trains/182658255760
there was post on u-tube where someone had C&O F-3s where he drilled out holes on the bottom like you did wyatt but he installed a wig-wag- alternate flashing lights syste. It was really a nice add on and very realistic. He also could change it so the lights were on continuously
