Title: Texas Special F3 and Alum pass cars
Post by: Casey_Jones on February 03, 2009, 10:00:19 AM
Mr. Bachmann,

I have the Texas Special F3 and would like to know if the color of Texas Special Aluminum passenger cars will match this loco ( found somone selling them).  I'm asking because I got the sence from the older website and catologs that these passenger cars were ment for the F7 and i'm not sure if the same shade of red was used on both the F3, F7 and aluminum passenger cars.

thanks

Actually, there are TWO different TS's out there (15" AL cars):

1.  Mostly red body.
2.  Mostly silver, with red window stripe.

To me, the mostly red looks better to me!  And the mostly red is closer from the original REAL TS.

There is a thread "William Variations" for more info on these cars.

 Dominic, thanks for the info.

The set of cars I found are the Mostly RED version.  Can I assume that red on them will match the F3's?

Hi Casey,

Yes the reds should match.

Actually, the rds match very well to the 2245 of 1954. (Lionel F3) I ran the '45 with the TS cars, and somebody thought I got a Lionel factory sample !  Had to explain the cars were Williams!  55 years apart and a good match.  Great work!
