Would the wood trim retain water on the roof? Just wondering. It all looks really good. Will be a nice piece when you are finished.

Have you thought about the paint scheme yet? Basic black or something colorful?

Looks perfectly fine to me, especially considering the cab you purchased wasn't made to fit the model you're using it on. You've done a nice job modifying it to fit so far.

Your locomotive has taken on a very different appearance from the original. Looks good.

Nice solution to the mounting your new light. I've been thinking of "backdating" a "modern" 2-6-0 for tourist service and the big headlight would be a nice touch.

I've seen a couple of posts on On30 message boards there is a new Bachmann 2-6-0 (0-6-0 according to some) yet I have seen no photos to prove the existence of said model.

Any truth to the rumors?

I realize you want to light your caboose, but you could consider adding phosphor bronze pickups to the factory trucks or pick up a pair of actual narrow gauge caboose trucks from San Juan Car Company.

Just a suggestion.

You can obtain sound only modules, but you'd be much better off changing out the original with a full service sound module.

I've done what your asking about and will never do it again. In the end, I wound up replacing everything and going with a DCC sound module which would have been easier to begin with.

Deerfield River Productions and Wiseman models have kits for ET&WNC rolling stock, for what it's worth.

Pretty amazing how much that little locomotive could pull and the rate of speed it was clipping along at.

This shay still survives, is actually 30 inch gauge, and while a little beefier is still just a two cylinder Shay. Love the cabbage stack!

My side-hustle is writing non-fiction books. The minute the editor is done, the magazine can be printed in probably less than 12 hours later.

Most people don't realize this, but unless the book you order from Amazon has super high demand and warrants a traditional press run or has special requirements, i.e. hard cover, lots of photos, glossy paper (typical rail history book), the paperback books you order do not exist physically when you hit purchase.

A technology called print-on-demand receives the order and the book gets printed and shipped to you. This allows a lot of niche market books to be printed and sold that otherwise could not justify the cost of a press run.

My point in stating this is to show has printing technology has changed. Yes, I am sure this will be an off-set color press run. The point is, printing technology is very different now from what it was even a few years ago.

I send in my files (cover and interior) and I get a proof copy in about three days.

I guess we'll find out when we get our annuals in the mail.

Formerly of the Klondike Mines Railway, then the White Pass & Yukon Route, followed by a few private owners, this locomotives is now going to be owned and operated by the new operation/museum at Como, Colorado. Little #4 just begs to be a prototype for an On30 locomotive!
