N / Re: Cool things Bachmann is good at!
February 14, 2009, 11:06:44 AM
I haven't heard about the Mocro-trains line Heavyweights. That is good news!
I too would still like to see Bachmann produce some Heavyweights though.
I have some N scale British. Graham Farish (Bachmann) to be certain. I took delivery of a set of Stainer coaches this fall. I also have a set of MK1 Pullmans I run with a West Country
4-6-2. The detail on both are breath taking even under a magnifing glass! I can only amagine what a set of Bachmann Heavyweights woud look like. I hope we don't have a long wait!

N / Re: N Scale E-Z MateĀ® Couplers

Dear Bachmann,

I understand the automatic couplers are protected. I also somewhat begrudgingly understand Bachmann's reason in not including them until the patent runs out. Still other N scale manufactures readily include them on their models.

Bachmann makes many very nice locos in N scale. Currently I will purchase only the Spectrum steam locos. Why? Good steam is rare in N, and Bachmann has been producing some of the best .With the exception of, in my opinion, the lousy dummy coupler. I have had difficulty keeping them coupled to other Bachmann dummy couplers on a transition car! I would happily buy many other Bachmann N scale models if equipped with compatible automatics. Or maybe, produce their models  so they can be more easily converted.  It seems to me Bachmann is losing sales by not.

Anything in Pennsylvania steam would be welcome.
NYC steam. J1 or J3a 4-6-4 Hudsons, Niagara 4-8-4, and a 4-8-2 Mohawk.
B&O 4-8-2 mountain and an EM-1 2-8-8-4.

N / Re: An N scale K4 in the works

There is another bonus for creating tooling for the K-4.
The PRR L1 Mikado used the same boiler. That's almost two for one with exception of the mechanism and probably some othe manufacturing problems I can't even begin to think of. I believe it's time for both! Hmmm......while I'm at it, how's about an PRR M1a/b from the mountain?  ;D

1218classa, I'm with you. Bachmann produces some fine steam loco's and a Pacific 4-6-2 would be a most welcome addition. Especialy the K4s. Pre or Post war versions. I have the Kato Broadway limited with GG-1's and E8's, but it's cryin' for a steamer. I'd love a T1 4-4-4-4, S1 Turbine? ;D Hint, hint, but the K4s would be a bigger hit me thinks. So here's hoping someone will build one soon!

P.S. Some heavyweight cars would be a nice addition too! (New tooling not Rivarossi or Lima please)
