Williams by Bachmann / Re: New Williams Locos Wanted
August 23, 2013, 09:07:58 PM
To "Scale out" the "Semi-scale" Toy trains would be to eliminate a long standing and cherished product line. If you want "scale" head to Weaver, 3rd-rail, Atlas, Lionel Legacy or MTH Premier. Leave the Semi-scale alone!

Williams by Bachmann / Re: JP's Wishlist for 2014

Wow, that's an ambitious list of mostly commuter related items. I feel luck Williams produced the Peter Witt cars. The one vehicle on your list that stands out to me is a modern Lightrail car. It's long overdue. I'd love to have several. My preference would be a High level loading type like in St. Louis or Pittsburgh. But a modern low floor car would be welcome too.

Is there any chance that Bachmann will release ~ prototypical versions of the 2-8-8-4 for other railroads, such as the Northern Pacific?

That's a great question. I was wondering about a Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range classes M-3 and M-4 Yellowstones myself. SP AC-9 would work for me too. Bachmann has the basic loco to do them all if they'd like.

Here's another thank you for the EM-1 and another for the august 2013 release date.
I was not disappionted this year. I can see multiple road no.'s on my layout.

One request Mr. Bachmann. Any chance for plug in sound?

I don't believe we'll see any new announcements until or after the National Train Show on Saturday. SO, far I haven't seen much as to spoilers on the internet.

I'm personally hoping for a K4 or Heavy 4-6-2, A NYC Hudson would be most welcome.
I just don't think Russian decapod would be as popular as a PRR I1s decapod. PRR built near 600 of the critters and I'd buy at least two and double head them.
No matter what anything new will be welcome.

A 4.75" Radius should work fine. I plan on using the trolley in a downtown loop area to serve the main station. A total viewable route length less than 24.0 "
Thanks for the info James.

What is the minimum radius the "N" scale Peter Witt trolley can negociate? I'd like to add a trolley loop to my layout. Thanks.

Sigh  :(...I'd love to see one myself, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I've been disapointed too many times.

N / Re: Why not a PRR K4 like the HO one?
December 28, 2012, 09:47:43 PM
It's a mystery to me. The Pennsy had 425 K4's. The L1 mikado with a similar boiler, 574. While the dome configurations were different. I believe dies could be produced to compensate and cut down on manufacturing costs. Perhaps the different dome (sand dome?) locations could be add on components.
These high appeal loco's seem to have been sadly overlooked for more obscure steamloco's.

P.S. BTW, I believe there may have been five L1 mikado's which used the same boiler as the K4.

I would speculate the Key Imports model of the H8 is no longer in production. As mentioned, It probably had a very low production run of maybe 250? I would be in favor of a "Mass" produced model like the other Bachmann articulated and made available to more people.

I'll give'r a try... Correct me if I'm wrong .

The 0/0-27 Hudson is considered semi-scale. A smaller loco maybe a scale size of 1/58 with a
tender of the same scale.

The O-gauge 773 Hudson uses a scale loco size of 1/48 with the same semi-scale tender as the smaller Hudson.

The full scale O-gauge, 1/48 Hudson uses the same scale Hudson loco as the 773 with a full scale 1/48 Tender. All have the True-Blast II sounds with exception of the Scale Hudson which adds a chugger.

I have seen the Thomas stuff in the large, HO, and N scales.
The N scale looks nice, but to me the N just does not have the wow factor that the other two have. And I model only N scale.

It's "N" scale and considerably smaller than the other two. It's just not the same. You want to see an "N" scale loco with Wow factor. Look at the new Graham Farish (Bachmann) A1 Peppercorn 4-6-2. That's a Wow! Sure wish Bachmann America would make a 4-6-2, period.
,
Below is a link to a reliable site for Tomix "N" scale Thomas and other Japanese "N". There qty's listed are in real time.

Devious,

I don't know that Bachmann will ever produce a N scale Thomas the Tank line. Tomix already does.

N / Re: C&O Alleghany - Bachman Please make this!!!!

I'd like to have one to be certain. Along with a B&O(EM-1), DT&I EM-1 2-8-8-4; N&W Class A 2-6-6-4, and PRR T-1 4-4-4-4 (Paint one in B&O too. Just for the heck of it.)

Much needed to me would be a PRR K4, B&O P7 4-6-2, and a NYC J1 or J3, 4-6-4.....My steam wish list is endless... Doesn't seem like China, Japan, Korea care much for US steam. They produce some, but where are the essential mid size loco's?  :(

A PRR K-4  4-6-2, a B&O  P7..  4-6-2, A NYC J1 J3a  4-6-4.....If Bachmann's parent company "Kader" can produce a A-1 Peppercorn 4-6-2 for there Graham-Farish line and several class' of 4-6-0's, they can produce a few mid sized American locomotive 4-6-2 types too! While I'm sure the 2-10-2 Will be welcome by many. The loco's I have mentioned above would have a much greater appeal to more.
