Title: Bachmann DCC decoder problems
Post by: nscaler711 on July 25, 2013, 10:32:20 PM
Hello all,
I've got a DCC Equipped F7 that won't respond to inputs  while I'm trying to program it.
First off i use a MRC Prodigy Advance Dcc.
my biggest problem is it won't accept a new address.. I have a EZ DCC controller but i do not want to use single numbers. I'd like to use 3-4 digit numbers but it wont change in cv 17 or 18 ( or 29 for that matter)
my other problem is it won't respond to acceleration and deceleration modes or start voltage either.

I am on the verge of just replacing the whole decoder but let's face it most decoders are expensive and when you have one that's already equipped you'd rather not go and change it.

Any thoughts?

I do not have that system but seen other posts with same problem.
This may help you, hope it does. Looks like your going to need a booster as the others and the OP had found out. Seems the Prodigy does not produce enough power to program the decoder.
