On30 / Re: Reasons for Bachmann to make a K-27

I'd like to see the Bladwin USATC S118 2-8-2's used on the White Pass. Specifically I would like to see a configuration with the postwar White Pass Modifications. For those who do not know what I am talking about, take a look at these photos.

A model of #190 and #192 in their respective tourist schemes, as seen in the above photos, would be great as well.

However, being the well-rounded person I am, I would like to see Bachmann make some British )n30 products, such as locomotives from the Talyllyn Railway, the Ffestiniong Railway, or any of the other several british narrow gauge engines.

take my word model railroad companies are far from poor and arent going out of buissness anytime soon not with the prices the way they are believe me

Oh such are the words of the unknowing youth.

If you had read my post correctly you will have seen that I said Local Hobby Shops. Without thses shops, not only do we have to rely on the internet to see new products, but we also loose the satisfaction of buying at hobby shops.

You sir, need to find a copy of the September 2008 issue of Classic Toy Trains and read the excellent "View From the Underground" column by Lou Palumbo. I won't bother to say what its about, but I think you can tell.

This is not just to Pittsburg and Thomas, but to all who read this. Instead of giving into the "Instant Gratification" urge that dominates us all in modern day america, and buy at retail price.

Hey Ya'll,

The reason they are cheaper there is because they are sold at Wholesale prices. In my opinion, I think that Wholesale sellers are hurting the hobby as a whole. Now the manufacturers themselves mind you but all the LHS's (Local Hobby Shops) across the country.

Take my advice and save the extra cash to help keep your LHS in business, so you will be able to obtain the cheaper things such as track, sceanic items, books, and magazines.

I'd most like to see a post-war White Pass modified US army Mikado, especially #192 and #196 in White Pass as well as Dollywood (192) and Tweetsie (196) schemes. However, I would also be happy with the White Pass 70 series mikados in White Pass and Dollywood Schemes (#70 and soon-to-be completed #71) or an EBT Mikado.

Really I see no sense in making the D&RGW K-class mikados (other than to make more affordable and readily availible versions), as Mountain Model Imports has already produced the K-27, K-28, and K-36 with the K-37 on the way.

On30 / Re: A Q about 4-6-0 for Bachmann

Disclaimer: The statement below is by no means a biased statement in anyway, well, maybe just a little bit.

Well who says Bachmann can't produce the other 4-6-0's? I, personally think it was smart for Bachmann to choose a well known eastern prototype, which has been immortalized by the Tweetsie Railroad theme park.

I also think they chose the ET&WNC ten-wheeler because they were familiar with the prototype. For those drawing blanks to that, I am referring to the large scale 4-6-0.

However, I hope that Bachmann will not limit itself to one 4-6-0 and considers the RGS, F&CC, SPNG, and D&RG (COUGHT12COUGH) for future release.
