Mr B'mann,

Also, is there any way to tell when the loco was made?  It appears to be new, but the Spectrum box is somewhat thread bare.

Thanks,

Large / Video/DVD for 25 ton Climax
May 05, 2009, 11:25:00 PM
Mr. B'mann,

I purchased a 25 ton Spectrum Climax at the SEGRS but it does not have the VHS/DVD included.  Was there one? And if so, how can I go about procuring one?  There are way too many small locations that will require lubrication to try to guess.

Thanks in advance.

All,

I attended the SEGRS this past weekend in Dalton.  What a BLAST.  Our club, the Emerald Coast Garden Railway Club joined forces with the Florida Garden Railway Society, Tampa Bay Division, to layout over 1300 feet of track in multiple loops.  Trains never stopped running, and some real good bargains were to be had. As far as I am concerned, the event was a resounding success.  I also believe that the facility has been retained for next year at the same time (rumor only).

bobd,

You can purchase replacement trucks for the Shay from Backmann on this site, or from any number of mail order houses on the net.

Bachmann,

Sorry it has taken a bit to get back, but the museum has just recently finalized the dates for October 17 and 18.  I hope this clarifies 'fall' for our definition.

Thanks,

Would it be too much to ask for a slightly tighter definition than 'fall'?

I purchased a sealed collectible Lionel Thomas set just before Bachmann announced their agreement with HIT Entertainment.  My original intent when I purchased it was to run it on our club layout only at open houses for the youngsters.  Since Bachmann has their agreement in place, I was hoping to get a more definitive release date.  I would much rather run newer, and better equipment if possible. Fall is my cutoff time for this decision.  We have a centenial celebration and was hoping to have a new Bachman unit ready for the celebration.

Thanks for what you can do.

Large / Re: K-27 Old Question - Counterweights (Again?)

Mr. Bachmann,

Is there any way to tell if you have received the 'new and improved' counterweights? I received my unit in May of 2008. I do have about 40 hours running time on it without any signs of looseness. Are there any serial numbers on them anywhere?

Large / Re: Large Scale Thomas !?!

Just before Christmas I purchased a 'sealed in the original package' Lionel Thomas, Annie and Clarabelle off eBay. Pricey for a collectors item.

Now I get the press release that Bachmann is coming out with one. Unfortunately the press release does not mention whether or not any rolling stock will come with Thomas.

I am hoping that the Bachmann might share the MSRP with us.

Mr Bach Man

Your answer to contact service is a dodge of the question.

First, if I could contact the service department I might not have posted here. Emails to the service department, as evidenced by posts here and on every other forum I am a member of, your service department does not answer them.  As far a telephone calls are concerned, their hours of operation are rather restrictive. I live in the central time zone, I get off work at 3:00pm (4:00 pm eastern), and by the time I drive home I am told the service department has closed for the day. My place of employment is very restrictive on telephone usage so daytime sitting on the hold (IGNORE) button is not a option.

How about a simple answer to the question asked.

General Discussion / Re: Attention Teenage Railfans
October 31, 2008, 06:11:02 PM
Railfans and Model Railroaders,

I have traveled all up and down the eastern seaboard from Maine to Florida and have seen ladies putting on makeup in the rear view mirror, to gents reading novels and the newspaper in the steering wheel, to people of all ages talking and texting while driving at 80 mile an hour.  I have seen parents turned around facing the back seat to discipline children.  I think we have all seen these and plenty I won't mention.

It is all to often that the real culprit of an accident never gets caught.  That being said, Florida has a 'Distracted Driver' law that has been used to reduce the cell phone abuse while driving. In New Jersey it is illegal and a primary offense to talk on the cell phone with the phone in your hand.  These are two states that seem to be taking proactive steps to reduce these events.

That being said, my dad taught me too many moons ago that there are two things you can not legislate....morality and common sense.

My tuppence worth.

I have an order with a mail order company since the end of August. Their advertisement stated that the items would ship the end of September.  I called them last week and they informed me that Bachmann had not shipped to them, and they had no anticipated shipping information from Bachmann.

What's the story????

Thank you all for your responses.  I have heard of the Oops product, but not the others.  I will look for all three and go from there.

Large / Re-numbering B'mann rolling stock
September 23, 2008, 11:43:01 PM
Is there any suggested method for removing the lettering on Bachmann rolling stock for re-numbering?  I recently purchased a group of Big Hauler stock and would like to change some numbers, without damage to the original surface (if that is possible).

Thanks for you help.
