Hi!

I got a question from a viewer how he could make a realistic weathering of an already assembled building from plastic kit. It should be super quick, very easy and NO airbrush or "advanced" artist stuff.. So I made a tutorial... https://youtu.be/h0xQB2J2HKg

Here´s the result, only using white and black water color + water + soap. 5 minutes.. Fully removable if not happy..

I really like the animation on the water and at the airport.

Yes. It was a really cool layout with 100s of gallons with real water. They had a water cleaning system and a complex pumpsystem for it too.

Hi!
I´ve have taken a number of misty morning photos.. Great fun!
The mist cancels out the unfinished parts of the layout as well as increases the feeling of depth in the photos.

Hi!

I have started to model spruce trees using moss as branches. The result is quite realistic.

HO / Model windows for scratchbuilt houses
May 20, 2016, 02:01:28 AM
Hi! :)

I´ve been tying a number of methods to make prototypic windows for scratchbuilt houses. Some ok, some not.
Together with a friend we came up with a quite easy way to make any window. So I made a video tutorial how it´s done:

Hi friends!

I made this tutorial on how to run prototypic sessions with carcards and waybills. You should try it, it´s great fun!!
My version of sessions/operations can be it can run by yourself, or together with one or more friends.
Starting with sessions was really a game-changer for me. Before I almost never run trains, now I enjoy to do it every day. :)

Hi! I saw a forum thread some years ago on how to make water effect using toilet paper and glue. I have tested this method and was very happy with the result, so I made a short video showing how it´s done. See link below.

I think this method is close to "fool-proof" in getting a good and realistic result. It´s also obviously a very low cost method, so I thought it was a good idea to spread this method by making a video tutorial. I hope you like it.

General Discussion / Re: Tutorial on Static grass

Hi Sid,

Nope, I live in Sweden, so I guess the Noch products are better priced here, since Noch is European.

It was the opposite around when I was in Chicago last year.. All the Woodland Scenics stuff was almost half price compared to the dealers in Europe.

Aren't there any US branded Static Grass applicator available ocer there? It's probably better priced, than the European stuff..

Hi!

Wayne.. Very nice scene there with the cows!! Nice paint work on the cows. Impressive looking tree.
Is it home-made, or based on something that's available in the shops?

What?! 240 bucks?!  ??? That was crazy. Tell your dealer that he should be ripping off his customers like that. I bought mine at 130 bucks, which I found way too much...

General Discussion / Tutorial on Static grass
February 21, 2016, 02:48:55 AM
Hi friends!

I bought myself a static grass applicator about a year ago and started out by making grass on my layout.
It was easy and fast, but the result was not very realistic. So... I tested, bought new grass and tested. Watched Youtube tutorials, read through forums and made new trials, until the result started to look good.

I made a short video tutorial communicating what I learned so far, so maybe if you´re thinking about start with static grass, this might be a short-cut to a better result from day one.
