Bachmann offers the 4-6-0 with a road number of #1233. I can not find that number in my book and fallen flags. Fallen flags has #1235. But that engine is much larger and newer.
Can Bachmann provide any further information about the #1233? Is #1233 the new or the old road number valid before 1937?

I have several of them and all have fine pick up. No problem in that area. The 44ton switcher is as good as all other two truck diesel engines.

I'm shopping virtual all of my model railroad from Germany in the USA.
Some (a lot of) persons selling via ebay refuse to ship oversea. I assume they simply don't know how to do so. But that the same here in Germany. A lot of people don't sell anything out of country via ebay.
The shops I'm using all charge the USPS fee. It's around $30 for a parcel with up to two locomotives and takes 2-4 weeks to arrive. The last week is most time Germany internal transfer for custom reasons. I do not buy if UPS is the only choice. It's most time far above $75.
A simple envelope with decals from Microscale cost ony a few bugs and arrives within one week.
A larger envelope with employee time tables varies from $3 to $15 and arrives within 1-2 weeks.
In any case I need to know the cost and method of shipment before I make the deal final.

You will need to check for yourself

Sure, will do so. I assumed that question is an old one and the answer is well known by NYC fans. Thanks for showing the direction.

Here is what I did....
Thank you, looks great. May be I have to omit the baffle as the Loksound 3.5 (not the micro Loksound) is thicker and will not fit on top of the baffle. I hope the whole tender can act as a baffle.
I've some Loksound 3.5 at home and don't want to spend money for the smaller micro Loksound.

That looks like a "medium" boiler ;)
Is it close to the high or low boiler version?

HO / Install sound decoder in small tender
June 30, 2008, 03:11:00 PM
I plan to install sound ( Loksound 3.5) decoder and speaker in the small tender of the Spectrum 4-6-0 low boiler and the Spectrum 4-4-0.
Did someone do so and has some tips and hints how to do? Some nice pictures would be great too.

The "huge" tender of the 4-6-0 high boiler was no problem at all.

Thank you
Reinhard

HO / 4-6-0 and 4-4-0 road numbers close to NYC
June 30, 2008, 03:05:12 PM
I've two Spectrum 4-6-0 high boiler, one 4-6-0 low boilder and two Spectrum 4-4-0 black undecorated.
I would like to letter them as close as possible to NYC prototypes. Can I get some help what road numbers would be the best choice at about 1930? That should be the old number system of NYC and some 4-4-0 should be still in service.

#NYC road number? 4-6-0 high boiler
#NYC road number? 4-6-0 low boiler
#NYC road number? 4-4-0

Thank you
Reinhard

ps. I found #1233 used for a 4-6-0 high boiler by Bachmann but that number finds no match in the book "Guide to north American steam locomotives".
